CEO

Emma Conway

Emma graduated from the University of Lincoln with a Degree in Social Policy and Criminology. Emma has a background in Policing in various strategic roles, as well as operationally including working within the Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit.

She enjoys working in person-centred roles and being able to assist people in changing their lives for the better.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys working on her small business making candles and reed diffusers, as well as playing badminton, gardening, baking and spending time with her family.

Hub Manager and Finance Officer

Diane Haines

A highly professional people-focused person, Diane brings 35 years of experience working in Administration and Customer Service roles. She pays close attention to detail, is highly organised and enjoys meeting new people and learning new skills.

She has had a varied career to date starting in banking, moving to the water industry and on to a supermarket bakery and an RAF coffee shop whilst bringing her children up and travelling around the country due to her husband’s RAF career.

In her spare time, Diane enjoys spending time with her family, baking, reading and looking after the family’s cats, chickens and fish! A keen motorsport fan, Diane enjoys watching virtually anything racing on 2 or 4 wheels and has been to Silverstone on a number of occasions. She is now looking to try out new experiences and, to that end, recently climbed over the top of London’s O2 Arena!

Adele Griffin

Adele is a mum of two who leads a busy a family life, she enjoys watching her son play rugby and daughter play Netball. In her spare time, she keeps fit and healthy by running, and walking her cockapoo exploring the Lincolnshire countryside.

Alex Haines

Alex is a graduate from the University of Lincoln with a degree in Accountancy and Finance.

He started with the NWCH team as a volunteer, assisting with administrative tasks, and is now part of the employed team.

In his spare time, he enjoys model kit building and gaming.

Administrative Volunteer

Damien Howard-Pask

Damien is a former chartered marketer with over 20 years of experience in a variety of roles. During this time he honed skills in project management, leadership, communication, public speaking, mentoring and coaching.

In September 2023 Damien decided to take a career-pivot and return to university to train to become a counsellor and support others with their mental wellbeing.
He enjoys reading, musicals, board games, walking his two dachshunds and spending time with his friends and family.

Administrative Volunteer

Meg Underwood

Meg is currently studying for a degree in Psychology with Mental Health at the University of Lincoln, with aim to continue on to further study for a masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Prior to her recent career and life reset, she spent 15 years in the commercial theatre industry as marketing director and head of marketing for major West End, Broadway and worldwide productions.

As well as being a full-time student, Meg is the primary carer for her grandmother who lives with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. She is a qualified Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra instructor and experienced mindfulness practitioner, and is happiest when hugging a yoga bolster or walking her tiny dog.

Anna Foxx Neal

Anna supports our Management Team with a wide variety of administrative tasks. She is proud to be part of the NWCH team.

Anna is also a Salsa dance teacher and enjoys muddy walks with her children.

Non-Executive Director

Ben Wright

Ben graduated from The University of Lincoln with a degree in Marketing, he then worked for JML, the Bauer Media Group and Local World/Trinity Mirror (formally Northcliffe Media).

After a number of years working for large media organisations he set up his own digital marketing company which specialises in Social Media (I Want Fish & Chips – ask him where the name came from!).

In his spare time he enjoys playing rugby and watching his son play. He enjoys spending time with his family and loves drinking lots of coffee! Many great ideas and conversations start over a hot cup of coffee.

Ben’s involvement with NW Counselling Hub began with a friendship, due to an unexpected event he started to use the services provided by the team. After experiencing how counselling helped him, he wanted to get involved with the team to help raise awareness for people that need help.

Non-Executive Director

Charlton Blackwell

Charlton (better known as Charlie), began his counselling studies at 19 years of age here in Lincoln with both Lindum and Ridgeway College.

Charlie first joined our team back in October of 2017 as a volunteer counsellor and has a great passion for understanding the modern impacts on society, particularly on how social media has influenced our thinking and behaviours.

Charlie has now moved into a Non-Executive Directors position since moving to Manchester to continue studying within the Counselling Practice at Salford University.

Amy Bellas

Counsellor

Amy is an integrative therapist which means she adapts her style of therapy dependent on the needs of each client and how they prefer to work. Amy is committed to making sure the therapeutic journey is authentic and collaborative process for the individual, with your preferences at the centre of the journey.

Amy believes it is important that no matter how you feel, you have the opportunity to talk to someone, because even the feeling of having someone to listen to you can make all the difference.

Andrew Cox

Counsellor

Andrew Cox has a long & varied experience working in counselling & social care settings. He is a qualified psychiatric nurse & while working as a nurse underwent counselling training and has worked in both statutory & charitable settings with vulnerable people of all ages.

He is a qualified Supervisor and has worked with trainee counsellors. Andrew is also a qualified herbalist and has a keen interest in nature and plants which adds to his approach as a person centred counsellor. He likes to use his skills in an integrative way and believes strongly in building trusting, therapeutic relationships.

He likes walking and cycling and is involved in community arts and drama. He is also a keen supporter of local sport particularly Lincoln City Football Club!

Charlie Cain

Counsellor

Charlie Cain is an integrative and creative counsellor registered with the BACP. Charlie has experience working with adults, children, and young people across a range of settings, including schools, online, and in face-to-face sessions.

Drawing on techniques from a variety of therapeutic approaches, Charlie tailors each session to meet the individual needs of her clients. Recognising that talking about emotions can sometimes feel difficult, she often incorporates creative methods—such as arts and crafts—into her work. This approach offers clients alternative ways to express and explore their thoughts and feelings within a safe and supportive environment.

Outside of her counselling practice, Charlie enjoys travelling, nature walks, movies, music, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.

Clare Boardman

Counsellor

Clare is an Integrative Therapist and a trained Couples Counsellor. She is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and works with both adults and children.

Clare is dedicated to providing a safe space that enables people to talk openly, exploring their concerns and ways forward. Her approach is to work empathically, supporting people in a non-judgemental way, whilst finding a way to best suit their needs to bring about positive change. In addition, Clare has extensive experience and training in restorative work and conflict resolution. She is registered with the Restorative Justice Council as an advanced practitioner.

Graham Cann

Counsellor

Graham is an integrative counsellor who will adapt his style and skills depending on the needs of each individual client. Its grahams belief that trust is a major basis to helping support the therapeutic process, and will work in a way that helps support that.

Graham was unaware of therapy/counselling until difficulties with his own mental health meant that he opted to seek help. He attended therapy at NWCH and after overcoming those struggles went on to train with Hub and after completion of the level 4 in counselling skills and theories has become a counsellor with us.

Graham enjoys watching Lincoln City and having adventures, whilst also loving the comfort of home and putting his feet up.

Ian Gillman

Counsellor

Ian is a qualified counsellor with extensive experience of working with children and adolescents within the NHS, schools and colleges as well as managing contracts on behalf of a charitable trust.

Ian specialises in working with children who may have additional needs.

Ian also supports families who are struggling and helps couples to find solutions and a way forward in their relationships.

Ian is married with four daughters who have a variety of pets and always manages any challenges in a calm and considerate way having a positive approach to life.

Ingrid Gill

Counsellor

Ingrid is a qualified Art Psychotherapist working within a psychodynamic person centred perspective, considering imagery within an emotional context. She uses an open, honest, non-judgmental and creative approach to adapt to client needs. Ingrid can help clients deal with complex and confusing emotions through either talking or creative activities for which you don’t need to be good at art.

Ingrid has worked in many different areas including mental health, schools and a Hospice and will ensure a safe space for clients of all ages from youngsters to older adults.

Lisa Munday

Counsellor

Lisa is a qualified person-centred counsellor who has worked with survivors of a wide range of trauma and abuse. She has a particular interest in child attachment and its effects on adult relationships with the self and others.
She has a background working with Save the Children on the FAST project as well as with Women’s Aid.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time in nature. She also loves spending time with family and friends.

Mandy Irons

Counsellor and Clinical Lead

Mandy is a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. She completed a Masters Degree in Relational Therapy in 2013 and training with the Centre for Child Mental Health and has worked extensively with couples and families on a wide range of issues.

She specialises in couple therapy and also sees individuals, couples and families through her private practice. Mandy also works for St Barnabas Hospice specialising in palliative care and bereavement counselling.

In her spare time Mandy enjoys family, friends, is a keen (but not very good) golfer, spending time in the garden and finding new hobbies.

Steph Body

Counsellor

With a background in behavioural research Steph was drawn towards counselling and qualified as a person-centred counsellor in 2023. She is keen to learn about differing modalities and ways of working and followed this up with a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Studies in 2024. Steph is a registered member of the BACP and has worked at CASY (Counselling and Support for Young People) and Women’s Aid.

Away from the counselling room Steph enjoys time spent with family and friends, running with her dog, and has become something of an amateur gardener.

Tanya Pinto

Counsellor

Tanya has a degree in Psychology and qualified as a counsellor in 2014. She also has a postgraduate certificate in autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions, which, combined with personal experience, provides a significant awareness of neurodiversity.

Tanya’s approach to therapy places clients at the centre of the session, providing a safe space to explore difficulties. She tailors each session to meet unique needs, utilising a variety of skills and methods that best suit each individual.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality moments with her family, sewing, and making notebooks. She is also dedicated to training her puppy with the hope that she can join a therapeutic setting, further enhancing the support provided to clients.

Tina Scott

Counsellor

Tina qualified as a counsellor in 2013 and is a registered member of the BACP. She has previously worked at the Lincolnshire Centre for Grief and Loss, and for CASY (Counselling and Support for Young People). She currently works in a variety of settings including schools, children’s homes, and Park Practice (working with university students).

In her spare time, Tina enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her two dogs, yoga, cooking and gardening.

Stephen Hopkins

Counsellor and Clinical Lead

Stephen is a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist, registered as a senior member of the ACCPH (accredited counsellors, coaches and psychotherapists). He is also a Registered Practitioner Member of the BWRT (brain working recursive therapy) Institute.

Stephen is committed to ensuring that the therapeutic approaches he uses with his clients are carefully matched to their individual needs. His work is strongly influenced by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT), both of which have proven track records of success in helping clients with a broad range of mental health /wellbeing related challenges.

Stephen is a trained couples therapist and works using the IMAGO approach which has proven success in helping couples to communicate more effectively so that they can successfully navigate the inevitable challenges of important relationships.

Stephen has a speciality, and particular interest, in working with men.

Stephen has six grandchildren (three in the UK and three in the USA). He enjoys traveling, cooking, and studying Indian philosophy.
